FACEITSync connects external services to enable match tracking, Twitch Predictions, overlays, and chat commands. This article explains how account connections work and how to manage them correctly.
Available Connections
Twitch (Required)
- Status: Required for login and core functionality
- Used for: Twitch login, Predictions, chat commands, overlays
- Token refresh: Settings → Account → Refresh Twitch Token
A valid Twitch connection is mandatory. Without it, FACEITSync cannot operate.
Steam (Recommended)
- Purpose: Automatic detection of the linked FACEIT account
- Connect via: Settings → Account → Connect Steam
- Benefits: Most reliable FACEIT detection and match tracking
FACEIT (Alternative)
- Purpose: Direct connection if Steam is not linked
- Connect via: Settings → Account → Connect FACEIT
- Benefits: Access to FACEIT stats and match data
Steam & FACEIT Account Linking (Important)
You do not need to connect both Steam and FACEIT manually. Connecting one of them is sufficient.
- If you connect Steam, FACEITSync automatically detects the associated FACEIT account
- If you connect FACEIT, the linked Steam account is detected automatically
- The only requirement is that the Steam account is correctly linked to the FACEIT account on FACEIT.com
Manual double-connection is not required and provides no additional benefit.
Minimum Requirements for a Complete Profile
- ✅ Twitch – Required
- ✅ Steam or FACEIT – One connection is sufficient
Refreshing & Reconnecting Services
If a feature stops working, refreshing the affected connection usually resolves the issue.
- Go to Settings → Account
- Click "Refresh Token" for the affected service
- Re-authorize the connection if prompted
When You Should Reconnect
- After changing your Twitch username
- If Predictions are no longer created
- If FACEIT stats or matches stop updating
- After Twitch, Steam, or FACEIT security changes
Common Connection Issues
- The connected Steam account is not linked to the correct FACEIT profile
- Multiple FACEIT accounts exist for the same user
- The wrong Steam account was used during authorization
If data appears incorrect, verify the Steam–FACEIT link directly on FACEIT.com.
Security & Privacy
- All connections use official OAuth authorization
- FACEITSync never stores passwords
- You can revoke access at any time via Twitch, Steam, or FACEIT
